Planning enforcement is the process of investigating and taking action against unauthorised development, such as:
- the carrying out of development without the required planning permission; or,
- failing to comply with any condition or limitation subject to which planning permission has been granted.
In circumstances where this has occurred Councils have responsibility for taking enforcement action and have a range of powers.
If you own land or property which is the subject of an enforcement investigation it is very important that you engage with the Council. We can advise and guide you through the process and work with you to resolve the issues with the Council.
